How Dashpoint ranks and recommends content
This page explains the main parameters used to order events and other recommendations, and how you can influence them.
Default event order
Without a meaningful search query, events marked as recommended are shown first. Within those groups, the next upcoming event is generally shown first. Curated or featured placements may also appear in clearly identified sections.
Search relevance
For text search, matches in the event name receive the greatest weight, followed by organiser and venue names, tags and the description. Recommended status has a smaller additional influence. Users can change the visible sort order to soonest, latest or name where that control is offered.
Personalised discovery
Where enabled, approximate city or distance, stated interests and preferences, saved or attended events, and signals such as friends attending may influence discovery. Exact live location is not required for ordinary search. AI discovery may interpret a query and combine semantic similarity with date, location and social relevance.
Commercial influence
Dashpoint does not silently treat payment as organic relevance. Any paid or sponsored placement must be identified as advertising or sponsored content. Organiser relationships may affect whether content is available, but not the stated text-match calculation unless disclosed.
Your controls
You can use search filters and sort controls, change discovery and location preferences in settings, withdraw optional consent, or use Dashpoint without granting precise location access.
